Whether you use the MediStar billing or credentialing services, or do your own billing or credentialing, you need software to support your operations. Medistar offers several software packages to streamline your processes, all of which come with our renowned planning, installation, configuration, training, and ongoing support services.

Practice Management Software

When you use MediStar billing services and you do not already have your own practice management, charge capture, or EHR/EMR system, we provide you with HealthPac practice management software — HPlus Signature™. This package manages your patient demographic information, provides an electronic charge entry capability, facilitates both patient and personnel scheduling, and integrates your medical coding seamlessly and electronically with our billing systems.

Because HPlus Signature is "ASP-based", all you need in your office is a desktop computer with Internet browser capability. All server hardware and software management is handled remotely as part of our service, greatly simplifying the technology infrastructure required at your facility.

If you do your own billing, our practice management solutions are also available as stand-alone packages.

Charge Capture Software

Charge capture software operates on hand-held, mobile notepad devices, such as the iPad and Android-based systems. They are becoming popular in many clinical environments where the practitioner moves regularly from patient to patient, room to room, such as in a hospitalist environment. But they are also useful in a physician's office. These devices not only capture diagnostic codes and charges as they occur, they also generally provide online, real-time clinical assists to the healthcare provider.

MediStar does not recommend a specific charge capture solution, but works with many of the leading vendors and can help you to implement the one best suited to your needs. Because we have already worked with many vendors, you may find that we have already interfaced our billing systems to the system of your choice.

Billing Software

If you prefer to do your own billing, MediStar offers an ASP-based software solution from our partner, Healthpac Computer Systems. Well proven and user-friendly, Healthpac software is EMR/EHR compatible, which means it interfaces with virtually all electronic medical/health record (EMR/EHR) systems.

Healthpac is a best-in-class software system used by hundreds of practices nationwide, and it is the technology underlying MediStar billing services. If you are looking for a software solution that helps you to manage your billing processes yourself, Healthpac is an excellent choice. When you sign up for our billing service, you automatically get the best-in-class Solus™ Business Intelligence reporting package. Solus BI gives you online, real-time access to graphical dashboards, drill-down screens, and reports that present all the data you need to assess the financial state of your practice and the productivity of your clinical staff. Credentialing Software

MediStar has developed a proprietary software package, Credentials Xpress WFM™, that we use to provide our credentialing service to healthcare professionals. We developed this software ourselves because there was no off-the-shelf solution available with work flow management (WFM) and other key features that we believe necessary for the effective support of a credentialing operation.

If you choose to do your own credentialing, MediStar offers Credentials Xpress WFM as a packaged solution. Like our Healthpac billing solution, Credentials Xpress WFM is an ASP-based system, meaning that you do not have to install or maintain the software yourself. From any Windows desktop, you have immediate access to all the capabilities of this full-service credentialing package. Electronic Medical Records Software

Because we believe that no one EMR package can meet everyone's needs, Medistar does not sell an EMR system directly. However, through our consulting services, we can assist you in selecting, installing, and supporting the EMR system that is right for you. We can also ensure that you have the proper technology infrastructure to support it.
