MediStar Adds Online End-of-Month Reporting

New Service Provides Billing Clients with Online Access to End-of-Month Reports

TRUMBULL, CT, May 6, 2008 - MediStar, a revenue cycle management company serving physician- and hospital-based medical practices nationwide, today announced that its billing service, MediStar Billing Center™, will now give clients direct online access to their end-of-month reports.

The new capability gives MediStar billing service clients online access to numerous end-of-month reports that previously were available only via email. Although the email-based system was still far superior to those of most other billing service companies, MediStar sought to raise the bar even further. The new system extends the online features and further improves upon the convenience and timeliness of the prior system.

With its new online system, MediStar clients are notified via email as soon as end-of-month reports are available, which is on the second business day after the close of the month. Because the system is entirely automated, the reports are immediately available for viewing. Clients need only to log into a secure account on the MediStar website. A personalized web page then displays both current and historical data for all departments that each client has authority to view. All reports are automatically organized by department and by month, making it easy to review current and prior months’ numbers. As an added feature, clients can select the reports that they want to see each month based on their individual preferences. This selection feature avoids having a global view that is cluttered with extraneous information.

Among the reports available with the new online system are physician volume statistics, effective measures for gross charges, practice analysis by RVU, various collection and accounts receivable aging analyses, various procedure analyses, and physician activity reports. The new end-of-month reporting system was introduced on a pilot basis in late 2007. It is now fully operational and available to all MediStar billing clients at no additional fee.
