New Platform Provides Expanded Functions and Services to MediStar Clients

TRUMBULL, CT, January 17, 2006 - MediStar, a revenue cycle management company serving physician- and hospital-based medical practices nationwide, today announced that it has chosen Clinix^TM, an ASP-based software package from Clinix Medical Information Services, as its new technology platform.

Clinix will provide MediStar with the ability to offer an expanded range of services and solutions to its growing list of clients. Those clients who use MediStar receivables management services will continue to see the same level of personal service that has been a MediStar hallmark; but, with the transition to Clinix as the supporting technology, these clients will now enjoy new capabilities, such as automated uploading of their coding forms, PDA integration, and online real-time reporting of their account activity. For clients that prefer to manage their own billing and collection processes, MediStar will now be able to offer a comprehensive software and support solution based on the Clinix platform.

Clinix is based on an Application Service Provider (ASP) model, which means that all software resides at a secure facility managed by Clinix Medical Information Services that is remote from the user's premises. Security, backups, redundancy, and all computer operations are provided - transparent to the user - by the hosting facility. The user accesses the application through a standard browser on a local PC, with no requirements for special software installation, management, or operation at the user site.
