MediStar Billing Center is a full-service provider that handles all aspects of medical billing and collections, including:

• Customizing patient encounter forms for your practice
• Optionally, coding patient encounters directly from providers' charts
• Reviewing your coding forms to ensure compliance with the latest standards and to screen for errors, omissions, and inconsistencies
• Submitting your claims to all commercial and government payors
• Generating easy-to-read statements and mailing them to your patients
• Responding to your patients' inquiries about their accounts
• Receiving payments from your patients and insurance carriers
• Depositing and posting payments to your account
• Following up to resolve denied claims and to collect all receivables due your practice
• Analyzing and calibrating your fee structure

In addition, we give you online capabilities and access to a wealth of information not available from other billing services.

Online Capabilities

When you become a MediStar billing client, you automatically receive your own online account, which you can access over a secure Internet link using the standard Internet Explorer web browser on your desktop computer. Through your account, you can perform many tasks, such as:

• Adding and revising patient account and demographic information
• Checking and updating patient eligibility
• Printing "Patient Policy Holder Information" forms and encounter forms
• Scheduling and re-scheduling appointments
• Checking in patients as they arrive
• Generating office schedules
• Directly entering charge postings
• Creating patient recall letters
• Accessing hundreds of on-demand and month-end reports

If you currently have an EHR or EMR system, our billing system can interface with it directly and upload your charge postings automatically. You can also enter your charge postings directly into our system through your online account.

Electronic Health Record Systems

Do you have an EHR/EMR system?

Our ClinixMIS technology platform can seamlessly integrate your office operations and your existing EHR/EMR system with our reimbursement processes. As a result, you always have easy access to a complete picture of your receivables, as well as information about every charge and payment.

ClinixMIS enables our billing system to interface with any HL7-compliant EHR/EMR system, including best-of-breed systems such as Allscripts Healthmatic, ChartLogic, digiChart, and MedicWare. In addition, ClinixMIS interfaces to both proprietary and HL7-compliant hospital and laboratory information systems, including Antek LabDaq, HCA, LabCorp, MediTech, Quest, and SMS.
